Elämäni Sankari

Founded in 1998, Elämäni Sankari is a non-profit association based in Hyvinkää, Finland working on addiction, children & youth, education.

Elämäni Sankari ry is a non-profit association in Finland focused on preventive substance abuse work. It works mainly in schools and educational institutions, from elementary school to secondary education, through interactive substance and wellbeing lessons, wellbeing surveys for pupils, staff information sessions and parents' evenings. The association also organises day camps for children aged 6 to 12, school sports tournaments, events for companies and communities, and short films and discussion materials for youth work. It is based in Hyvinkää and works regionally, with a member of the EPT network at national level. Its activities are funded mainly by the Finnish government grant agency STEA, with the remainder from municipal cooperation, school contributions, foundation funding, sales of materials, event income and sponsor grants. It also runs the Jarno Saarinen memorial fund, which supports children and families in difficult circumstances.
