About
Elävä säätiö is a foundation based in Kuopio, Finland working on employment & skills, environment & climate, children & youth.
Elävä säätiö is a Finnish foundation in Northern Savo that works to help people who are excluded from or at risk of exclusion from working life to find employment. It provides rehabilitation and training services, with around a thousand trainees a year, about half under 30. It also promotes the circular economy in the region by collecting, reconditioning and selling donated goods through its Elävä kauppa shops in Kuopio, Siilinjärvi and Suonenjoki, and through Elävä Puoti & Paja in Kauppakeskus Matkus. Its restaurant Ahjo serves as a training restaurant. Surplus income is reinvested in social employment, circular economy education and prevention of social exclusion. The foundation is a non-profit community that does not distribute profits.
