About
Founded in 1997, Equipo Peruano de Antropología Forense is a non-governmental organisation based in Peru working on human rights, justice & legal aid, peace & conflict.
EPAF is a Peruvian non-governmental, non-profit institution founded in 1997. It promotes the right to truth, justice and guarantees of non-repetition in cases of crimes against humanity, especially enforced disappearance and extrajudicial execution. It conducts forensic investigations, including exhumations, ante-mortem data collection and DNA analysis, and provides training in forensic anthropology, human rights and related fields nationally and internationally. Its work in Peru focuses on families of victims of the 1980-2000 internal armed conflict, mainly indigenous and Quechua-speaking people in poverty, and it works to strengthen their capacity to access justice and development. Its activity is concentrated in the Pampas-Qaracha river basin in Ayacucho.
