About
Festival Salamandre is a non-profit association based in Morges, Switzerland working on nature & wildlife conservation, environment & climate.
The Festival Salamandre is a non-profit nature festival held each year at the Beausobre site in Morges on the shores of Lake Geneva, Switzerland. Organised by the Association des Amis de la Salamandre, an independent, apolitical association recognised as being in the public interest, it aims to raise public awareness of the richness and fragility of local nature. The three-day event offers exhibitions and films on nature, educational activities for children, an artists' gallery, storytelling, and a responsible market featuring local, fair-trade and organic products. The festival prioritises local and regional nature and biodiversity, works with local partners, and seeks to minimise its environmental impact through recycled and sustainable materials, sustainable food choices and encouragement of soft mobility. It is run largely by volunteers and is linked to the nature magazine La Salamandre.
