Fundación Amazonía Productiva (FAP) is an Ecuadorian foundation founded to explore economic and environmental alternatives for society. It runs projects in education, child sponsorship, reforestation and carbon offsetting, and promotes fair trade and community economic development. Its native tree planting work collects seeds, grows seedlings in nurseries and plants them in areas affected by deforestation, with local communities paid to carry out the work. Its sponsorship programme provides children in rural Amazonian communities with education, health and nutrition support until they finish secondary school, alongside school, canteen and library projects. Its activities are concentrated in Ecuador, including Loja province, the Galápagos Islands and the Sucúa area. The organisation also runs a responsible tourism operation and offers volunteer programmes in the Galápagos, with the tourism income linked to its social and environmental projects. The foundation works with partners such as the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE) on planting activities.
