The Fundación Miguel Delibes is a private non-profit foundation constituted in Valladolid on 12 March 2011, the first anniversary of the death of the writer Miguel Delibes. Its main purposes are to gather and safeguard the writer's cultural legacy, to study and disseminate his figure and work, and to promote and support research on the themes that ran through his life and writing, such as literature, journalism, conservation of nature, rural life, childhood and inequality of opportunity. The foundation works through six strategic lines: Literature, Teaching and training, Journalism, Defence of the environment and nature, Social inclusion and cultural outreach, and Internationalisation. Its activities include an archive, a book lending service, exhibitions, talks, educational resources and competitions for schools, a literary tour programme in Valladolid, and an intergenerational project. It is funded by contributions from public administrations, the University of Valladolid, companies, the Delibes family and individual supporters through the Club Delibes and friends' membership. Its territorial scope is primarily Castilla y León, based at Casa Revilla in Valladolid.
