Fundación Por Una Vida is a civil society organisation founded in Quito, Ecuador, in 1990 by a group of people who wanted to help children and young people from low-income families affected by leukaemia and other blood diseases. It works with the Hospital Baca Ortiz to supply medicines for oncology treatment, improve hospitalisation and outpatient areas, and support patients and their families with a day-care and family support centre, transport assistance and food support. Many of its beneficiaries come from marginal and rural areas, and the foundation runs an annual Christmas gift drive for families. It reports that 2,318 patients under 15 have been registered since its creation, with around 120 patients per month.
