Fundacja Amicus Renis is a Polish foundation based in Kraków, founded in 1994 on the initiative of nephrologist Professor Olgierd Smoleński. It aims to disseminate knowledge about kidney diseases, their prevention, diagnosis and treatment, with a focus on dialysis therapy and transplantation in the Małopolska region. The foundation organises the Krakowskie Dni Dializoterapii conference and other symposia, runs training courses for medical staff, publishes the patient magazine Dializa i Ty, and supports patients with financial aid for medicines and rehabilitation equipment. It also funds research equipment and projects, and awards the Pro Augmentis Nephrologiae prize and the Amicus Renis medal.
