Fundacja Pomocy Rodzinie Człowiek w Potrzebie is a Polish foundation founded in 2005 by Maria Knapik Stepanow. Support is conditional on recipients taking their own steps to improve their situation. The foundation provides material aid such as food, household goods and furniture, crisis meals, medical support for those who cannot wait for public healthcare consultations, and help for homeless people and tenants of poor-condition tenements. It also runs Different, a restaurant in Warsaw staffed by blind and visually impaired waiters, to provide employment for people with disabilities, and a social enterprise whose profits go to charitable purposes. The foundation has worked with corporate donors, public programmes and EU-funded projects, and states that it currently operates only in Warsaw.
