Fundația Mara is a Romanian non-governmental organisation founded in 2000, based in Deva, Hunedoara county. It works to improve the living conditions of vulnerable groups, with a focus on children in difficulty and their families. Its activities include social services for children at risk of family separation, deinstitutionalisation and support for children with disabilities, counselling for parents and children, vocational information and counselling, job mediation, and vocational and adult training. It also runs programmes to prevent early school leaving and to support disadvantaged students and young people leaving the child protection system. Most of its work is funded through European Social Fund projects and private donations, and it is accredited as a private social services provider and as a vocational training and employment services provider.
