Fuugin säätiö is a Finnish grant-making foundation based in Helsinki. It was established by the association FUUG ry using funds from the sale of Eunet, and it awards grants that support the development and use of open information systems and open-source software that benefit people in Finland. Grants support UNIX-like operating systems, open systems, research on open standards, education, information dissemination and the development of public-benefit technology. The foundation awards grants several times a year and accepts applications on a rolling basis, with decisions made after board meetings. It also runs themed years, such as Linux for home use and creative AI. Reported activity includes around ten projects a year in 2016–2022, and 13,000 euros awarded to four recipients in 2023. The foundation's sister organisation, FUUG ry (Suomen Unix-käyttäjäin yhdistys), was founded in 1984 to promote knowledge of UNIX and open systems in Finland and organises club evenings and events for its members.
