Genç İşi Kooperatif is a non-profit social cooperative based in İzmir, Turkey. It does not distribute profits to its members and works to give disadvantaged groups access to employment, livelihoods and socio-economic rights. Its activities include capacity-building training for cooperatives and their members, particularly women's cooperatives, research and policy advocacy on cooperatives and the social solidarity economy, and programmes for refugees, young people and people with disabilities. Its projects have included work with the ILO, the Sabancı Vakfı and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, including training across several Turkish provinces and in Gaziantep, and international exchanges with partners in the United States, Tunisia and Lebanon. The organisation also runs KoopAkademi, an 8-week programme for designing cooperative enterprises, and Koopdestek.org.tr, a question-and-answer platform for cooperatives. It describes itself as a scientific research, development and education cooperative and has operated since February 2015.
