The Guelph Hiking Trail Club is a volunteer-run, non-profit charitable organisation based in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1970 and incorporated in 1974, it establishes and maintains hiking trails in Guelph and the surrounding area, including the Radial Line Trail, Speed River Trail and side trails, through permission from private landowners and partnerships with the City of Guelph. The club maintains over 80 to 90 km of trails running from Cambridge to Limehouse and from Guelph to West Montrose. It also organises guided hikes throughout the year, including general, kids, photo, bike and ski/snowshoe hikes, and an annual end-to-end hike. Trail upkeep is carried out by trail coordinators and section captains, who also build and repair bridges and boardwalks. The club publishes a newsletter, a trail handbook and maps, and runs tree planting and ecological restoration days. Membership fees and donations fund trail maintenance, newsletter production, liability insurance and website costs. Membership fees are tax-deductible.
