Hercegnovski strip festival

Founded in 2007, Hercegnovski strip festival is a non-profit association based in Herceg Novi, Montenegro working on arts & culture, education, children & youth.

Hercegnovski strip festival is an annual comics festival held in Herceg Novi, Montenegro, run by the Udruženje ljubitelja stripova (Comics Lovers Association). The association was founded in 2007 by artist and comics creator Nikola Ćurčin. The festival takes place over six days each September, usually starting on the first Friday of the month, and aims to popularise comics and educate the public about the ninth art. Its programme includes exhibitions, fan drawing sessions, workshops for children and adults, panel discussions, presentations, screenings, a comics exchange, and live music. Special guests from international comics industry are invited each year, and the festival also hosts a winter comics weekend since 2016. Events are free of charge and held at galleries, public venues, and local hospitality sites across the city. The association also works to extend the summer tourist season in Herceg Novi and has presented exhibitions in other Montenegrin towns.
