Hnúšťanské labky

Founded in 2019, Hnúšťanské labky is a non-profit association based in Hnúšťa, Slovakia working on animal welfare.

Hnúšťanské labky is a civic association (občianske združenie) founded in May 2019 to build and run a shelter for abandoned and stray animals in the town of Hnúšťa, Slovakia. The shelter takes in mainly dogs, including animals removed from poor conditions, and places them with new families through an adoption process that includes a trial period when needed. The shelter is located in an industrial park in Hnúšťa and is run day to day by volunteers, funded by donations, the 2% personal income tax designation, grants and municipal support. The association serves the Hnúšťa area and the wider region from Rimavská Sobota to Tisovec, and also works with municipalities on their legal duty to handle stray animals.
