About

HOPE587 is a Swedish Christian aid organisation founded in 1999 in Hallaryd, Älmhult Municipality. It works on social and humanitarian projects based on Christian values, aiming to fight poverty and support poor, sick and socially vulnerable people. Since 1999 it has worked in Ukraine, supporting children and young people with disabilities. In Zambia it ran projects between 2013 and 2022, including school attendance, menstrual products, a food and water response, and support to Beit CURE Hospital in Lusaka; these projects are now completed and no new Zambian projects have started. Since the war in Ukraine began in 2022, the organisation has focused its funds on Ukraine, evacuating people, hosting refugees with volunteer host families and sending food, medicine and school materials through local partners. The work is funded by individual gifts, memorial gifts and membership fees, and is largely carried out by volunteers. HOPE587 is politically and religiously independent in its aid, and it provides help without distinction between recipients.
