Il Mulino is a Catholic-inspired community of families and an volunteer association (OdV) based in Vicchio, in the Mugello area of Tuscany. Its stated purpose is to promote a culture of solidarity and service that places the person, especially the most vulnerable, at the centre, in line with Catholic social teaching. The association distributes food to individuals and families in difficulty through an agreement with Banco Alimentare della Toscana, and promotes reception and integration initiatives with other third-sector bodies. The community also runs spiritual formation, interreligious dialogue, retreats, workshops and environmental activities, and hosts guests in a shared-living setting. The community was founded as a family community and later established a foundation (2006) and an association (2007).
