Ingeniører Uden Grænser (IUG, Engineers Without Borders Denmark) is a Danish technical-humanitarian aid organisation founded in 2001 by engineers who wanted to apply their professional skills to global development. It is a membership association carried by volunteer engineers and technical experts, supported by a professional secretariat in Copenhagen. The organisation works with local partners in the Global South and in Ukraine on water supply and sanitation, energy, infrastructure, schools and health facilities, climate adaptation and capacity building, aiming to create sustainable, locally anchored solutions for vulnerable communities. It works through two modalities: IUG Projekter, long-term development projects, and IUG Respons, short-term rapid-response assistance. It also runs volunteer onboarding, internships, student engagement, a technical committee that maintains a CV database of member competencies, and a Core Humanitarian Standards accountability programme. Support comes from membership fees, individual donations, legacies, grants and corporate partnerships. Donations to the organisation are tax-deductible up to a stated annual limit.
