Insel der Kinder (Associação Ilha das Crianças, AIC) is a Brazilian non-governmental organisation on Itaparica island in Bahia. It supports children, young people and families in socially disadvantaged communities through education, child protection, nutrition, culture, sport and psychosocial care. Its work is centred on a learning and community centre in Amoreiras, Itaparica, and it is supported by the German charity WCTAG Hilft e.V., which acts as its international umbrella and receives donations from outside Brazil. The organisation runs programmes in music, digital skills, cinema, environmental education and a healthy-eating programme, and offers volunteering, sponsorship and legacy giving. Its main financial support comes from the Bijou Brigitte Stiftung.
