IPA Brasil is a non-profit association based in São Paulo, Brazil, founded in 1997 and affiliated with the International Play Association. It works to promote, preserve and protect the right to free play and access to culture as a fundamental human right. Its activities include training adults who work with children, such as the certified Agentes do Brincar course, youth programmes through IPA Jovem, public play days, and advocacy for play in public policy, including the inclusion of Article 17 in the Marco Legal da Primeira Infância and contributions to Law 14.826/2024 on positive parenting and play as violence prevention. The organisation also works with the Ministério Público de São Paulo and the Ministério Público do Trabalho, runs the Selo Cidade Amiga do Brincar recognition for cities, and has engaged with UN processes, including General Comment 17 on Article 31 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. It is recognised as a Ponto de Cultura by the Ministry of Culture.
