Stichting Jua, also known as the Jua Foundation, is a Dutch foundation that runs the Jua Rescue Center in Watamu, Kilifi County, on Kenya's coast. The centre provides crisis shelter for girls up to 18 who have experienced domestic violence, many of whom are pregnant or living with HIV, after they are placed there by Kenyan child protection or the justice system. After reunification, the foundation runs a two-year home-based care programme with regular family visits, focused on economic independence and a stable future. It also runs prevention and education activities on domestic violence, HIV, child marriage and teenage pregnancy at schools and in local communities. The foundation was founded in 2010 by Nelleke Hols and works with a Kenyan team.
