Justiça nos Trilhos is a non-profit association for human rights and the rights of nature. Founded in 2007 as a campaign, it grew into a network that supports communities affected by the Carajás Railway and the Carajás mining corridor in Maranhão and Pará, Brazil. Its work covers popular education, popular communication, legal advocacy and economic alternatives to large projects. It denounces rights violations linked to mining and agribusiness, supports community self-organisation, and promotes community oversight of public policies and budgets. It operates from two hubs, in Açailândia and São Luís, and takes part in international human rights and business forums.
