About
Founded in 1988, Kulturarchiv Oberengadin is a non-profit association based in Zuoz, Switzerland working on heritage, arts & culture, education.
The Kulturarchiv Oberengadin is a public-interest association based in the Chesa Planta in Zuoz, Upper Engadine, Switzerland. It collects, secures, catalogues and makes accessible documents on the culture of the Upper Engadine and surrounding regions, including letters, plans, photographs, drawings, account books and rare literature. Many of these documents relate to Engadiners who worked abroad or to people who settled in the region, so the holdings reach beyond the valley. The archive rescues cultural material at risk of loss or disposal, makes it available to researchers and the public, and runs exhibitions, publications, guided tours, school programmes and film productions. It was founded in 1988 by Dora Lardelli and Giuliano Pedretti and is supported by its members, donations, volunteers, municipalities, the canton, the federal government and foundations.
