Lab Rescue

Founded in 2020, Lab Rescue is a non-governmental organisation based in Warszawa, Poland working on animal welfare.

Lab Rescue is a Polish foundation that rescues healthy animals, mainly rats, rabbits, mice and guinea pigs, from laboratories after non-harmful procedures and finds them permanent adoptive homes. It works with research institutions to arrange rescues, relies on volunteer foster homes to prepare animals for adoption, and runs transport, adoption support and fundraising initiatives. Its main base is Warsaw, with foster homes in Wrocław, Kraków, Poznań and Rybnik, and adoptions take place across Poland and occasionally abroad. The foundation also advocates for better treatment of laboratory animals and promotes rodent and rabbit care education. It was registered as a foundation in September 2020 after operating as a grassroots initiative since 2016.
