Stowarzyszenie Lambda Warszawa is a non-profit association in Warsaw, described as the oldest organisation in Poland working for LGBTQIA people. Since 1997 it provides legal, psychological, advocacy and educational support to the LGBTQIA community in Poland. Its work includes a nationwide telephone helpline, psychological counselling and psychotherapy, free legal advice for people and small organisations, a temporary shelter for LGBT people experiencing homelessness, an LGBTQI archive and the QueerStoria journal, anti-discrimination training and education, and European projects on LGBTI health and child well-being. It also coordinates the Equality Marches coalition and runs a youth-oriented student group and social groups. Activities are largely volunteer-based and funded by donations, tax designations (1% and 1.5%), public grants and EU and EEA programmes.
