Lazare Belgique

Founded in 2017, Lazare Belgique is a non-profit association based in Bruxelles, Belgium working on housing & homelessness, employment & skills, addiction.

Lazare Belgique is an association that develops shared housing (colocations solidaires) in Belgium, bringing together people who are homeless or in precarity with young working adults. Houses are non-mixed, each resident has a private room, and a family responsible lives on site for three years to animate the house. Residents pay a monthly contribution and take part in a shared weekly dinner and community events. Projects are based in Brussels (Etterbeek) and Liège, with a new Liège house planned for November 2026. The association is part of the Lazare network, which began in Paris in 2006 and has houses in several countries. Its funding combines resident occupation fees, private donations, family and corporate foundations, and tax-deductible gifts, and it receives no public subsidies. Lazare works with social care partner structures to refer residents.
