Machaon International is an independent, non-profit organisation from Slovakia, founded in February 2008 by Jozef Bednár and Svetlana Belova. It works to protect biodiversity, cultural heritage and sustainable development in the Carpathian region, across Slovakia and Ukraine. Its activities include environmental education for schools, companies and the public, guided tours and eco-tourism, art residencies, cultural events, traditional landscape restoration and cross-border cooperation projects, including humanitarian support and employment for Ukrainian refugees. Its headquarters are in Gánovce, Slovakia.
