About
Mamma United is a non-profit association based in Stockholm, Sweden working on community development, gender equality, health +3 more.
Mamma United is a Swedish non-profit association that works to strengthen mothers in socioeconomically vulnerable residential areas so they can influence their own lives and those of their children. Its free basic programme gives mothers knowledge about Swedish society, rights, health, education, economy, employment and contact with public services such as the police and social services, alongside networks and peer support. Follow-up community meetings continue this work, with content set by the participants. Mamma United Trygg runs summer activities in residential areas, where employed mothers provide snacks and adult presence for children. The organisation works in 15 municipalities and 22 to 23 areas across Sweden, with its office in Stockholm and local teams in cities including Göteborg, Västerås, Uppsala and Södertälje. Its stated aims include reducing isolation, increasing trust in public institutions, and supporting integration, health and equality. It cooperates with municipalities, authorities, companies and civil society organisations.
