MIVA Slovensko

MIVA Slovensko is a faith-based organisation based in Bratislava, Slovakia working on international development, health, religion & faith.

MIVA Slovensko is the Slovak branch of the international MIVA network, a humanitarian organisation of the Catholic Church. It funds transport for missionaries, including cars, motorcycles, bicycles and ambulances, in poor and remote regions, so that priests, missionaries, catechists and medical staff can reach communities, hospitals, schools and parishes. Its projects are funded entirely by donations, including 2% tax allocations, and are approved by the MIVA Slovensko board through a formal application process. Vehicles purchased through the organisation remain the property of the mission parish, diocese or congregation rather than the individual missionary. The organisation also promotes Christian values through awareness activities and prayer, including Masses offered for donors. It is based in Bratislava, Slovakia, and works in countries including Tanzania, Rwanda, Mozambique, Kenya, Bolivia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
