It presents the history of San Germán and western Puerto Rico, from the colonial town founded in the early 16th century to the present, through a collection of indigenous Taíno artefacts, 19th-century objects, religious wood carvings, paintings, coins, historical memorabilia and a library of rare books and periodicals. It operates alongside the Museo Farmacia Domínguez La Botica, housed in a 19th-century pharmacy, and its exhibitions are free to the public.
