Naturarvet
Insamlingsstiftelsen Naturarvet
Lund, Sweden
About
Founded in 2004, Naturarvet is a foundation based in Lund, Sweden working on nature & wildlife conservation, environment & climate.
Naturarvet is a Swedish fundraising foundation (insamlingsstiftelse) founded in 2004 under the name Ett klick för skogen. It raises funds from the public, companies, organisations and authorities to buy old, protection-worthy forest in Sweden. Once acquired, the forests are protected permanently under the foundation's statutes, which prohibit logging and sale, giving protection at least equal to a national park. The foundation aims to protect threatened species, conserve biodiversity, and promote outdoor recreation, tourism and research. It also runs a forest-sponsorship scheme where donors can earmark forest plots, a gift shop, and volunteer work for finding and surveying forests. Its work focuses on Sweden, with protected forests in Halland, Uppland and Jämtland.
