Founded in 2013, Nepal Animal Welfare and Research Center is a non-governmental organisation based in Banepa, Nepal working on animal welfare, health, science & research.
Nepal Animal Welfare and Research Center (NAWRC) is a not-for-profit non-governmental organisation founded in 2013 and registered with the Office of the Company Registrar. It works to protect animals and promote scientific research for their welfare in Nepal. Starting in the Kathmandu Valley, it relocated to Banepa, Kavrepalanchowk, to serve eastern districts. Its work includes humane dog population management through spay, neuter and mass anti-rabies vaccination, which it developed in partnership with municipalities, beginning in Banepa and extending to Dhulikhel and Panauti and then other municipalities across Nepal. It also runs rescue and rehabilitation, disaster response, public education, research, and advocacy for animal welfare laws and policies.
