NVO IKRE Rožaje is a non-profit, non-partisan non-governmental organisation based in Rožaje, northern Montenegro, founded in 2002. It works to combat all forms of violence against women and girls, support access to justice, and promote economic empowerment of unemployed women. Its Counselling Service, which holds a licence from the Ministry of Social Welfare, provides free legal aid, psychological counselling and a confidential person service to victims of family and gender-based violence and to people at risk of becoming victims. The organisation also runs training and courses for unemployed women, education on democracy, human rights and European integration, and campaigns to raise awareness of gender equality in several towns in northern Montenegro. It cooperates with local, national and international bodies, takes part in strategic planning, and promotes social and women's entrepreneurship. Its stated vision is a modern society built on gender equality in which women enjoy all guaranteed rights.
