About
Founded in 2011, Oasi Felina di Pianoro is a charity based in Pianoro, Italy working on animal welfare.
The Oasi Felina di Pianoro is a cat sanctuary near Pianoro, in the Bologna area of Emilia-Romagna, Italy. It takes in abandoned, mistreated and seriously ill cats, including cats with FIV, FeLV and FIP, and provides veterinary care in facilities that include an clinic with laboratory, operating theatre, digital X-ray room, infectious disease wards and intensive care. Cats that are adopted are rehomed where possible, while those that cannot leave for health or behavioural reasons stay at the sanctuary for life, supported through remote adoption. The sanctuary also rescues cats from neglect and hoarding situations, runs awareness and advocacy work, including campaigning for access to FIP treatment, and publishes educational material. It is managed by the Associazione Una zampa sul Cuore ODV and supported by the Fondazione Oasi Felina Pianoro ETS, which receives donations, including the 5x1000 tax allocation. The sanctuary states that it receives no public funding and relies on donations, membership, legacies and a shop.
