About
Öppna Kristdemokrater is a non-profit association based in Stockholm, Sweden working on lgbtq+.
Öppna Kristdemokrater is the LGBTQ+ association of the Swedish Christian Democrats (Kristdemokraterna). Based on a personalist view of humanity and the Christian democratic tradition, it works to increase understanding of and improve living conditions for people who fall outside sexual, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristic norms. It is open to anyone who shares this purpose, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or party membership. The organisation advises party branches and elected representatives on LGBTQ+ issues, offers information, training and lectures at internal and external events, runs a national network with regional groups across Sweden, and campaigns for LGBTQ+ rights, including family support for rainbow families and the rights of trans people. It also takes part in the European Center-Right LGBT Alliance, a network linked to the European People's Party.
