OZ HANA

Founded in 2013, OZ HANA is a non-profit association based in Spišská Nová Ves, Slovakia working on gender equality, human rights, justice & legal aid.

OZ HANA is a women-led civic association founded in 2013 in Spišská Nová Ves, Slovakia. It works to end violence against women, providing specialised counselling, crisis intervention and a crisis line for women experiencing intimate partner violence and their children, and for other people threatened by domestic violence. The organisation also runs multi-institutional cooperation with municipal departments, police and social services, delivers workshops for professionals and school discussions for young people, and advocates for stronger state protection and support systems. Its activities focus on the Spiš region and the Košice self-governing region. It is named after Hana Gregorová, an early Slovak feminist.
