About

Founded in 1987, PACE Canada is a charity based in Toronto, Canada working on education, children & youth.

PACE Canada, the Project for the Advancement of Childhood Education, is a registered Canadian charity founded in 1987 as Women for PACE Canada. It supports early childhood education in Jamaica, mainly through the Adopt-A-School Program, which lets donors sponsor a basic school, and through school supply boxes, educator training and infrastructure projects such as classroom and multipurpose room construction. The organisation works with community-based preschools, many of them in under-resourced areas, and reports supporting over 700 of more than 2,400 ECC-accredited preschools in Jamaica. PACE Canada is run by volunteers, has a Toronto base, and is funded by individual donations and a nominal membership fee that covers administrative costs. It also runs fundraising events such as an annual luncheon and a Christmas Toy Drive. Its mission is to help children in Jamaica get a strong start in education, with a growing focus on child well-being in Canada.
