PATRON Foundation (Yayasan Patron Satwa Indonesia) is a non-profit organisation run by zoologists and conservationists. Operating on the Indonesian island of Sumatra since 2014, it works to reduce the illegal trade in wild animals, with a particular focus on the critically endangered Sunda pangolin. Its Trenggiling Conservation Program includes a rescue and rehabilitation centre for confiscated pangolins, which is being expanded with quarantine and rehabilitation enclosures. The foundation identifies and investigates trafficking cases, works with local government agencies on wildlife law enforcement, and runs awareness activities in schools, communities and online. It also employs former pangolin poachers as field assistants and supports local communities through education for children. Its Indonesian team is supported by Czech management and donors, and the foundation aims for Indonesians to protect their own wildlife and nature.
