PROGRESFEM is a Slovak civil association (občianske združenie) based in Poprad that runs a specialised, accredited counselling centre for women experiencing gender-based violence and their children. Its free and confidential services include social, legal and psychological counselling, and support women through the full process from acute crisis to regaining independence and a life free from violence. The organisation also aims to bring about systemic changes in legislation and practice and to raise public awareness of gender-based violence. It supports its work through tax designations (2% of taxes), donations, and online shopping partnerships.
