ReFOCUS Media Labs is a non-profit foundation founded in 2018 that trains asylum seekers, refugees and young people displaced by conflict in photography, filmmaking, video production, graphic design, podcasting, audio engineering and journalism. Its media labs operate in Athens, Lesvos, Berlin and Kraków, with the Athens lab established in 2022 and the Berlin lab opened in 2024. Its students include teenagers and young adults in refugee camps, shelters for minors and community centres. Beyond training, ReFOCUS produces films, documentaries and multimedia projects, runs the Fractured podcast and its citizen journalism work, and offers mentoring and employment support to media creators with refugee backgrounds. The foundation is registered in Warsaw, Poland.
