The Römisch-Katholische Zentralkonferenz der Schweiz (RKZ) is the national umbrella association of the cantonal Catholic church organisations in Switzerland. Founded in 1971 and organised as an association (Verein), it handles church financing, church-state law and religious law, and church management. It finances national and language-region tasks of the Catholic Church, including abuse prevention and intervention, pastoral care in healthcare and federal asylum centres, migrant pastoral care, synodality and ethics. Its work is based on a dual system of church bodies and the Swiss Bishops' Conference, and it is based in Zürich. Its annual contributions to around 40 supported institutions are set by its plenary assembly.
