S.O.S. Missionario is an Italian non-governmental organisation of Christian inspiration, founded in San Benedetto del Tronto in 1964. Its work focuses on rural poverty, particularly coffee farmers in Uganda; water access through wells and rainwater cisterns; university scholarships; education for women and girls; inclusive education and rehabilitation for children with disabilities in Vietnam; and support for people living with HIV/AIDS in India. Projects are designed together with beneficiaries and local partners. The organisation was recognised as a non-governmental organisation for international cooperation by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1988 under Law 49/87. It is also an Ente Morale (1985) and supports donors through tax-deductible contributions and the 5 per mille scheme.
