Its current work centres on social support for older people, including home care services, a planned day centre and planned senior residences. It also maintains the local Church of Nossa Senhora da Visitação and its historical heritage, and holds religious worship activities. Governance is by an elected General Assembly, an Administrative Board and a Fiscal Council, and members (irmãos) pay a monthly fee.
