The Parma section of the Associazione Nazionale Alpini, the national association of Alpine troops veterans and their families. Based in Parma, Italy, it covers Parma province as well as Pontremoli and Zeri in Lunigiana. Its work includes preserving the memory of the Alpini, especially those who served in the Second World War, through veterans' testimonies, commemorations and a 'Reduci' archive; running a civil protection service through its volunteer groups; organising sectional events and national gatherings; publishing the ParmAlpina newsletter; and supporting charitable causes, including fundraising concerts for AISLA Parma, the local section of the Italian association for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The section also supports the Alpini choirs active in the province.
