SIMRI

Founded in 1995, SIMRI is a non-profit association based in Napoli, Italy working on health, children & youth, medical research.

SIMRI (Società Italiana per le Malattie Respiratorie Infantili) is an independent, non-profit scientific society registered as an Ente del Terzo Settore (ETS) in the Italian national register (RUNTS). Based in Naples, it works to promote child respiratory health in Italy, with a focus on paediatric pulmonology. Its activities cover scientific research, including study groups and research grants, training and continuing education through courses, congresses and an academy, publication of the journal Pneumologia Pediatrica and the Pediatric Respiratory Journal, and public awareness on issues such as smoking, air pollution and childhood asthma. SIMRI also runs a Junior Members forum for members under 40 and an advocacy committee. It serves clinicians, researchers and parents, and collaborates with hospitals, universities and other scientific and patient organisations in Italy and internationally.
