Sociedad Ecuatoriana de Cardiología

Sociedad Ecuatoriana de Cardiología is a non-profit association based in Portoviejo, Ecuador working on health, medical research.

The Sociedad Ecuatoriana de Cardiología (SEC) is a non-profit scientific and professional society of cardiology specialists in Ecuador. It works to advance knowledge of the heart and circulatory system, improve the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease, and improve survival and quality of life for cardiac patients. Its activities include continuing medical education, courses and congresses, scientific research, academic support for professionals, and community campaigns for the detection and prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases of the cardiovascular system. The society is organised as a national association of members, structured into provincial chapters (núcleos) in Pichincha, Guayas, Azuay and Manabí, with a national board and a general assembly. Its statutes set a national territorial scope, and its main domicile is in Quito, with a contact address in Portoviejo.
