The Societatea Femeilor Creștin Ortodoxe din Timișoara is an association of Orthodox Christian women in Timișoara, Romania. Founded in 1991 with the blessing of the Metropolitan of Banat, it became an independent legal entity in 2005. Its activities cover religious, cultural and social-charitable work. Its main projects include hot meals for children from low-income families and for mothers of seriously ill children at a hospital, a family-support campaign called Adoptă o familie, and visits to hospitals and a home for elderly people. It also runs a programme with the Timiș county child emergency reception centre, educational and religious activities in Timișoara Penitentiary, and an educational project for children in nearby villages. Activities are coordinated with the Timișoara Archdiocese and parishes, and the association is funded by donations and membership fees.
