Spejderhjælpen
Spejdernes fond til fordel for nødlidende, syge og vanskeligt stillede børn
Frederiksberg, Denmark
About
Founded in 1959, Spejderhjælpen is a grant-making foundation based in Frederiksberg, Denmark working on children & youth, education, disability +2 more.
Spejderhjælpen is a foundation established in 1959 by the Danish scout corps to support sick and disadvantaged children in Denmark, including Greenland and the Faroe Islands, and abroad. Funds are raised mainly through scouts performing paid voluntary work and group fundraising, such as an annual Spejderhjælpsuge (scout aid week) held each September. Money is granted to partner projects supporting children and young people in need, with past projects in Rwanda, Ghana, Lebanon, Malawi, and the Thailand-Myanmar border region. Its partners include Folkekirkens Nødhjælp, Danske Handicaporganisationer, Lev and Mødrehjælpen. The foundation is governed by a volunteer board and runs on an April to March financial year. From 2025 its work is being moved into the five scout corps, and the foundation has received permission from the Danish Agency for Civil Affairs to dissolve and distribute its assets to its purpose.
