SPITEX Verband Kanton Bern

Founded in 1995, SPITEX Verband Kanton Bern is a non-profit network based in Bern, Switzerland working on health, elderly care.

The SPITEX Verband Kanton Bern is the umbrella association for 42 independent, non-profit home care (Spitex) organisations in the canton of Bern, Switzerland. It represents the interests of its members in negotiations with the canton and in policy matters, and provides them with a range of services. It also supports the recruitment and training of care professionals in home care, runs an online platform for finding local Spitex organisations, and coordinates national initiatives such as the Spitex Day. The association was formed through a merger of two cantonal associations, which was decided in 1994 and implemented on 1 January 1995. It is a member of Spitex Schweiz, the national umbrella body.
