Tox Info Suisse is a non-profit foundation under Swiss federal foundation supervision. It runs the 24-hour poison emergency information service in Switzerland, reachable by telephone on 145, providing free medical advice on poisonings and suspected poisonings. The organisation also coordinates the national antidote list and the ANTIVENIN-CH network of antivenom depots with the Working Group Antidota, carries out research on acute toxicity of medicines, substances, plants, mushrooms and chemicals, and offers paid services to companies such as emergency advice for product transport and safety data sheets. It runs public and professional training on poisoning prevention, primarily for parents, grandparents, day-care centres, kindergartens and schools. Its research cooperates with university clinics and the German and Austrian poison centre network.
